IP4OS Toolbox recognised as Best Practice

The IP4OS Toolbox for Knowledge Valorisation has been featured as a best practice within the Best Practices Repository of the European Commission's Knowledge Valorisation Platform.

The Knowledge Valorisation Platform brings together stakeholders across Europe engaged in transforming research results into sustainable products and solutions that generate economic value and societal benefit, whether through advancing social progress, fostering new businesses, or informing policy development. Its Best Practices Repository compiles practices and "learning from experience" examples submitted directly by the stakeholders responsible for their content, offering the European research and innovation community a shared resource for exchange and collaboration.

The featured entry presents the IP4OS Toolbox as a compilation of ten openly accessible resources developed to support researchers, research-support professionals, and multi-professional consultation teams in integrating Intellectual Property management with Open Science practices. Particular emphasis is placed on the Knowledge Valorisation Rubric, which structures the valorisation strategy process into three components, namely the production or reuse of intellectual assets, the conditions of reuse, and the timing of reuse, as well as the FAIR-R²L Rubric, which extends FAIR and AI-readiness principles to responsible licensing. Together, these resources reflect the project's central premise that Intellectual Property and Open Science are not mutually exclusive, but can be mutually reinforcing when valorisation decisions are made deliberately and at an early stage.

This recognition follows the successful application of IP4OS outputs across the Europe-wide train-the-trainer Pilot Learning Lab.

Further details on the feature are available in the Best Practices Repository.
